Silver Peak offers the premier platform for Wide Area Network (WAN) acceleration.  Silver Peak NX Series appliances leverage the following technology components to accelerate all enterprises applications in a secure and reliable fashion:

Network Memory:  Silver Peak's patent-pending solution for disk based data reduction, and a critical component of Local Instance Networking (LIN).  Network Memory inspects all traffic that is sent between clients and servers, storing information as a local instance in Silver Peak appliances.  Repetitive information is delivered locally rather than sent across the WAN, improving application performance and WAN utilization. 

Secure Content Architecture™ : Silver Peak keeps enterprise data secure.  All NX appliances are equipped with hardware based AES encryption to protect local data stores.  Optional IPsec keeps content safe when it traverses the WAN.  Intelligent security policies can be established for granular control of WAN traffic.

Latency and Loss mitigation:  Silver Peak uses protocol acceleration techniques, such as variable window sizing, to compensate for poor performance on high latency links. In addition, adaptive Forward Error Correction maximizes performance on links with high packet loss and Packet Order Correction (POC) overcomes out-of-order packet delivery.

Quality of Service:  Silver Peak appliances support several QoS techniques, including advanced queuing/scheduling and application based policies. Enterprises can deploy and prioritize a wide variety of business critical applications, ensuring that each gets the resources it needs

Advanced WAN Compression: Cross-flow payload compression ensures that the transmission of data across the WAN is as efficient as possible by eliminating redundant information. Header compression significantly reduces the overhead inherent to flows of small packets, as is the case with Voice over IP.
