    • David Hughes

      Founder, CEO and Chairman of the Board

      David Hughes founded Silver Peak Systems in 2004 after a year as Entrepreneur in Residence at Benchmark Capital.

      David Hughes founded Silver Peak Systems in 2004 after a year as Entrepreneur in Residence at Benchmark Capital. Through 2013 Hughes drove innovation as CTO, and then more recently, as CEO he has led Silver Peak beyond WAN optimization into the emerging SD-WAN market.  Prior to Silver Peak, Hughes was a vice president and general manager at BlueLeaf Networks (2000-2002), where his team developed a unique network switching and transmission system. From 1996 to 2000, Hughes held several positions at Cisco Systems, including director of system architecture for the BPX and MGX product lines, and senior director of product management for the Multi-Service Switching Business Unit. Earlier, Hughes was a key engineering contributor at StrataCom, an early pioneer in frame relay and ATM, which was acquired by Cisco in 1996. Before StrataCom, David worked as an engineer for BNR Japan/Northern Telecom Japan Inc.

      Hughes has been awarded more than 50 patents in areas including data acceleration, routing and packet switching, control and scheduling algorithms. Hughes earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Wollongong University, Australia, and holds a BE in Electrical Engineering from Auckland University, New Zealand.

      Senior Vice President, Products

      Damon Ennis leads Silver Peak’s engineering, product management and customer support efforts. Prior to Silver Peak, he served as senior director of systems engineering and chief technologist at CIENA.

      Damon Ennis leads Silver Peak’s engineering, product management and customer support efforts. Prior to Silver Peak, he served as senior director of systems engineering and chief technologist at CIENA. Before that, Damon was in senior management and technical roles at FORE Systems. Damon has an MS in electrical engineering from Columbia University and BS in electrical engineering from the University of Delaware.

    • Chris Helfer

      Senior Vice President, Strategic Alliances

      Chris Helfer leads all aspects of leveraging and expanding go-to-market initiatives with strategic alliances and has been with Silver Peak since 2006.

      Chris Helfer leads all aspects of leveraging and expanding go-to-market initiatives with strategic alliances and has been with Silver Peak since 2006. Prior to Silver Peak Chris served as VP Sales and Business Development at Siliquent Technologies (acquired by Broadcom). Prior to that, Chris held sales management roles at both Cisco Systems and StrataCom (acquired by Cisco) leading sales teams to success in both enterprise and service provider sales. Chris is a graduate of Northwestern University McCormick School of Engineering with a BS in Industrial Engineering.

    • Ken Laversin

      Chief Revenue Officer

      Ken Laversin, a 20-year Silicon Valley veteran, leads the global sales, channels and revenue generating teams worldwide.

      Ken Laversin, a 20-year Silicon Valley veteran, leads the global sales, channels and revenue generating teams worldwide. Prior to Silver Peak, Laversin served as senior vice president of worldwide sales and alliances at Jasper Technologies during their hyper-growth phase and subsequent acquisition by Cisco in 2016. At Cisco, Laversin led global IoT software sales for the Cisco Jasper business unit. Laversin began his career in sales roles at Siebel Systems, which was acquired by Oracle In 2006. At Oracle, he served in various SaaS and enterprise software sales leadership positions, including vice president of North American sales for the company’s BSS/OSS service provider software division. Laversin holds a bachelor of science degree in economics and political science from the University of Arizona.

    • Allen Seto

      Allen Seto serves as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary and is responsible for all legal, regulatory and compliance matters. Mr.

      Allen Seto serves as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary and is responsible for all legal, regulatory and compliance matters. Mr. Seto brings more than 15 years of experience to Silver Peak, previously providing legal advice to industry leading technology companies including ShoreTel, Inc., Taleo Corporation, Oracle Corporation and SYNNEX Corporation. Mr. Seto started his legal career at the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. He received his JD degree from UCLA School of Law and received his BA from the University of California, Berkeley.

      Senior Vice President, Human Resources

      Kathleen Swift leads all aspects of talent acquisition, organizational development, total rewards, employee engagement and retention. Previously, Swift served as vice president of global human resources for Ruckus Wireless.

      Kathleen Swift leads all aspects of talent acquisition, organizational development, total rewards, employee engagement and retention. Previously, Swift served as vice president of global human resources for Ruckus Wireless. Prior to joining Ruckus, Swift served as the vice president of human resources at Complete Genomics, Opnext, Extreme Networks and Terayon. Swift also served in human resources roles at Avanex, Com21, Questlink and Hitachi. Swift holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with honors from the California State University at Chico and spent a year studying overseas at Lincoln University in New Zealand.

      Rick Valentine leads all aspects of customer success, satisfaction and retention, currently representing more than 3,000 customers around the world.

      Rick Valentine leads all aspects of customer success, satisfaction and retention, currently representing more than 3,000 customers around the world. Prior to Silver Peak, Valentine served as chief customer officer at Symantec Inc./Veritas Software leading customer success for the technical support software portfolio spanning consumer and enterprise customers across 11 global locations and 15+ languages, including a team of 1,500 worldwide associates. Prior to that, Valentine served as general manager of employee management solutions at Intuit and vice president and general manager of Sage SaaS and Cloud services at Sage Software. Earlier, Valentine served in various executive assignments at Major Account Payroll Service, National Account Services and ADP. Valentine is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Miami University.

    • John Vincenzo

      Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer

      Leveraging his 20 years of strategic high-tech marketing experience, John oversees all aspects of Silver Peak’s integrated marketing programs.

      Leveraging his 20 years of strategic high-tech marketing experience, John oversees all aspects of Silver Peak’s integrated marketing programs. He joined Silver Peak from Embrane where he helped the start-up company establish itself as a pioneer in the software-defined networking and application-centric networking space. Prior to Embrane, John was vice president of Global Marketing at 3Com Corporation. John also has held several marketing and communications positions with companies including Verizon Communications, Level 3 Communications and Genuity, a leading managed Internet service provider (formerly BBN).

      John graduated with a Bachelor of Science in communications from Emerson College in Boston.

      Eric Yeaman has served as Chief Financial Officer since joining Silver Peak in 2005. Previously, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Turnstone Systems.

Eric has held various senior financial positions at Atheros Communications, Atmosphere Networks (acquired by Ditech Communications), Whitetree Networks (acquired by Ascend Communications), and KPMG. Mr. Yeaman became a CPA in 1995.

      Gilbreath has a decade of proven leadership experience at Silver Peak and is responsible for leading the North America major accounts sales teams, enabling the company to further accelerate business momentum with existing and new Fortune 1000 customers across its core market. Prior to leading North America sales, Gilbreath led global accounts, regional sales and sales engineering. Prior to joining Silver Peak, he worked at Cisco where he served as the product line manager for the wireless business unit. Gilbreath earned his Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification in 2002.

      Michael O’Brien is the vice president of worldwide channel sales leading the Silver Peak global channel strategy and program with a primary focus on fully enabling partners and accelerating market expansion.

      Michael O’Brien is the vice president of worldwide channel sales leading the Silver Peak global channel strategy and program with a primary focus on fully enabling partners and accelerating market expansion. Michael joins Silver Peak from Aerohive where he served as the vice president of global channels and architected a managed service program to enable partners to offer unique services to customers. Prior to Aerohive, Michael served as executive director of global channels and alliances at Dell where he focused on maximizing partner opportunity and satisfaction. Michael joined Dell in 2011 through the Force 10 acquisition, where he served as vice president of channels and alliances. Prior to that, he served in various channel leadership roles at AMD and Sun Microsystems where he led channel transformation initiatives to tightly align partner enablement to changing market dynamics and customer requirements.

      Stubbs rejoins the Silver Peak leadership team after a five-year hiatus and is now responsible for leading the worldwide service provider sales team to help cloud service providers bring enterprise applications into the cloud by addressing the challenges of network flexibility, speed, cost and security. Prior to rejoining Silver Peak, Stubbs focused on Service Provider sales at Nicira (acquired by VMware) and served as head of sales for Datera Inc, a scale-out cloud infrastructure a company funded by Andy Bechtolsheim, Pradeep Sindhu and Vinod Kohsla.

      Kristian Thyregod is vice president for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region and is responsible for sales operations, including Silver Peak go-to-market and channel strategies, designed to accelerate customer acquisition and partner engagement. Prior to Silver Peak, Kristian served as senior vice president, EMEA at Riverbed Technology. Prior to that, Kristian was responsible for EMEA Solution Sales at CA Technologies selling CA’s portfolio to new customers in both the Enterprise and Public-Sector space. Before joining CA, Kristian held senior leadership positions at both EMC Corporation and IBM. Kristian is a graduate of Copenhagen Business School and Henley Management College with advanced degrees in strategy and business administration and has recently completed a post graduate program in Strategy at IMD Business School.

      Doug Woodley is the vice president of North America enterprise sales with a focus on account development and coverage model expansion in the broader enterprise market. Doug joins Silver Peak from Check Point Software Technologies where he served as regional vice president of sales for nearly 10 years, leading the company’s North American sales teams. During that time, Doug was a key driver in building and scaling out the sales teams to include expanded territory models, government verticals and global/strategic account teams. Prior to Check Point, Doug served in sales and channel leadership positions at iPass where he led the channel, technology alliances and inside sales teams. Prior to that, he served in various sales leadership roles at UUNET and CompuServe.

While at Amsterdam Pacific Corporation, John worked with BBU Mezzanine Fund I and BBU Mezzanine Fund II, where he sourced, supported and exited mezzanine investments across a number of industries. Previously, John worked at Octel Communications (now Lucent Technologies) and Tandem Computers (now H-P) in Marketing and Strategic Planning roles. He also worked at JP Morgan in both capital markets and corporate finance.

      Tim was previously a partner at Trinity Ventures, a leading early- to mid-stage venture capital firm, where he focused on investments in the software and security sectors. Prior to Trinity, Tim was a vice president at GTCR in Chicago. He started his career in the early 1990s at TA Associates in Boston.

      Tim received his M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and graduated with a B.A. in Classical Archaeology from Dartmouth College.
