L’informatique a vécu plusieurs grandes étapes de son évolution depuis son apparition comme une ressource d’entreprise importante. Le cloud est le domaines de l’informatique qui connait la croissance la plus rapide en ce moment. En effet, l’étude ZK Research 2015 Global Cloud Forecast (Présentation 1) prévoit un taux de croissance annuel composé de 18 % de 2014 à 2019, soit plus de six fois les 3 % de croissance du reste de l’informatique sur la même période.
