Silver Peak Secures Wind River Titanium Server Validation; Accelerates Deployment of SD-WAN NFV Solution

SANTA CLARA, Calif., October 10, 2016 – Silver Peak, the global leader in broadband and hybrid WAN solutions, today announced the formal validation of Silver Peak Unity EdgeConnect as a carrier-grade SD-WAN Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) solution for Wind River Titanium Server, the industry’s first fully integrated and feature-complete network virtualization software platform.

By validating EdgeConnect on the Titanium Server, service providers and telecom equipment manufacturers (TEM) deploying infrastructure based on the Wind River Titanium Server NFV platform can now offer an industry leading carrier-grade Silver Peak SD-WAN solution as part of their overall NFV offering. Service providers and TEMs can select from a broad range of NFV infrastructure solutions with the confidence of knowing that they are pre-validated with Titanium Server and production network ready.

Silver Peak has successfully completed the testing and validation process as part of the Wind River Titanium Cloud ecosystem program dedicated to accelerating the deployment of solutions for NFV. This validation ensures that EdgeConnect can be easily integrated into Titanium NFV deployments, enabling service providers and TEMs to speed service agility and drive revenue growth.

The Silver Peak Unity EdgeConnect SD-WAN solution is comprised of three fully integrated components. The foundational component, EdgeConnect, is available as a range of physical or virtual appliances that provide secure and reliable virtual overlays to connect users to applications with the flexibility to use any combination of underlying transport technologies without compromising application performance. The Unity Orchestrator management system provides unprecedented levels of visibility into both legacy and cloud applications, along with the unique ability to centrally assign business intent policies to secure and control WAN traffic across the distributed enterprise. Unity Boost, an optional WAN Optimization performance pack, further optimizes application performance and transport of large data sets over distance.
