Silver Peak Appoints Chris Helfer as Vice President of Business Development

Mountain View, CA, August 22, 2006 – Silver Peak Systems (www.silver-peak.com), a leading provider of scalable Wide Area Network (WAN) acceleration appliances, today announced that Christopher D. Helfer has joined the company as vice president of business development. In this role, Mr. Helfer will focus on the development of strategic go-to-market business and technology partnerships, facilitating Silver Peak’s ability to sell and support WAN acceleration solutions that satisfy the stringent business continuity and application delivery needs of large enterprises.

Mr. Helfer brings more than 20 years of industry experience to Silver Peak. Most recently, he was vice president of sales and business development at Siloquent, a fabless semiconductor and software company (acquired by Broadcom). In this role, he was responsible for driving design wins and developing customer traction through strategic partnerships with top-tier server and storage manufactures. Prior to Siloquent, Mr. Helfer held various management roles at leading networking, telecommunications, and computing companies, including over 11 years of sales, marketing, and business development experience at Cisco Systems and StrataCom, a pioneer of telecommunications equipment.
