Silver Peak Appoints Mike Betz as Head of EMEA Sales; Continues Global Expansion with New EMEA Offices and Partners

CDG, Exclusive Networks, and Sysob Commit to Promoting Silver Peak’s Data Center WAN Optimization Solution throughout EMEA

Santa Clara, Calif., December 8, 2010 Silver Peak Systems, the leader in data center class Wide Area Network (WAN) optimization , today announced the addition of new offices in Germany and France and the expansion of the company’s existing presence in the United Kingdom.  In addition, Silver Peak has signed new partners CDG, Exclusive Networks, and Sysob to assist in the sales and support of Silver Peak products throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).  To lead the company’s expansion in the region, Silver Peak has hired Mike Betz as the company’s new vice president of EMEA sales. 

Mike Betz joins Silver Peak from Expand Networks, where he ran that company’s EMEA sales efforts.  Prior to Expand Networks, Mike held various senior level sales management positions at leading hardware and software companies, including SMARTS (acquired by EMC), Whale communications (acquired by Microsoft), E.piphany, Oracle and IBM.

In his role at Silver Peak, Betz will be responsible for growing Silver Peak’s presence in EMEA through partner development and new customer acquisition.  This includes working closely with global Silver Peak resell partners EMC and Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) as well as regional Silver Peak distributors and solutions providers.

The following companies have recently signed up to promote Silver Peak’s leading WAN optimization solution in EMEA: 

  • CDG are specialists in cloud, VDI, Desktops as a Service (DaaS) and application availability.  The company is providing distribution support, consultancy and localized virtual vendor presence for Silver Peak throughout the United Kingdom.
