Silver Peak Sues Riverbed for Patent Infringement

SANTA CLARA, Calif., August 17, 2011 Silver Peak Systems, Inc. today filed claims against Riverbed Technology (Nasdaq: RVBD) for infringing three of Silver Peak’s United States patents related to its WAN optimization technology.  The claims were filed in a lawsuit Riverbed had previously initiated in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.  Silver Peak seeks to have Riverbed permanently enjoined from making and selling the features of Riverbed’s Steelhead series appliances, Riverbed Operating System (RiOS) software, and related services that are accused of infringement.
