Global Visibility

Complete Visibility and Control with Silver Peak Global Management Systems (GMS)

Silver Peak's Web-based Global Management System (GMS) provides centralized orchestration of WAN deployments, advanced application classification, and detailed performance metrics. With Silver Peak GMS, you have all the tools you need to centrally configure, monitor and manage a Silver Peak Unity WAN fabric.  You’ll enjoy fast deployment, simplified device management, centralized monitoring, and extensive reporting capabilities.

Silver Peak Unity instances can be pre-provisioned and then automatically discovered using the automated deployment wizard, including implementation of your own custom policies. GMS also makes day-to-day administration easier with scheduled configuration backups and automatic updates.

Silver Peak's easy-to-use dashboards provide essential real-time information, such as device status and usage statistics, WAN metrics, and alarms. And with real-time and historical reporting, you have all the information you need for capacity management, network planning, auditing, troubleshooting, ROI analysis, and SLA enforcement.

Resources

  • The Silver Peak Global Management System (GMS) is a powerful platform for the deployment, management, and monitoring of a Silver Peak enabled Wide Area Network (WAN). In addition to centralizing the administration of Silver Peak NX, VX and VRX appliances, GMS provides detailed visibility into all aspects of application delivery across a distributed enterprise, including application behavior, WAN performance (latency/loss), Quality of Service (QoS) policies, and bandwidth utilization.
  • This is a demonstration of Silver Peak's web-based Global Management Systems (GMS). Silver Peak GMS gives customers all the tools needed to centrally configure, monitor and manage a Silver Peak-enabled wide area network (WAN).Customers enjoy fast deployment, simplified device management, centralized monitoring, and extensive reporting capabilities. • The Wide Area Network (WAN) Optimization market has evolved significantly over the past decade. Whereas once it focused exclusively on improving visibility into the WAN and shaping traffic, today it serves a much broader purpose — overcoming bandwidth, latency, and loss challenges to enhance the performance of all IP applications and control IT costs.
  • Many Wide Area Network (WAN) acceleration solutions are “symmetric” in nature, requiring communication between devices on each end of a WAN link. In order for these solutions to work, there must be a reliable way for traffic to be encoded/ compressed on one end of the WAN link and successfully directed to a device on the other end of the link where the traffic can be decoded/decompressed prior to final delivery.
  • Shared Wide Area Networks (WANs), like MPLS and Internet VPNs, are prone to network congestion during periods of heavy utilization. When different traffic is vying for limited shared resources, packets inevitably will be dropped or delivered out of order, a concept known as “packet loss”.

  • Pet care is big business, and one of the dominant players in the industry is Merial. When the animal healthcare company decided to centralize its key business applications, the project spawned a handful of related IT projects, including a WAN optimization deployment designed to speed data center backups and boost application delivery worldwide. A joint venture between Merck & Co. and sanofi-aventis, Merial employs more than 5,000 employees and operates in more than 150 countries worldwide. Some of its consumer pet supply brands include Heartgard and Frontline. The company’s global headquarters is in Atlanta, and its second-largest hub is in France.
  • PT Sinarmas Sekuritas is a subsidiary of PT Sinar Mas Multiartha, the investment holding company for Sinar Mas Group and one of the largest conglomerates in Indonesia. The company is a leader in financial services that includes fund management, investment research, stock brokering, bonds, and other derivative products to retail, corporate, and institutional customers.
